Selecting a Bengal breeding cat is a hard decision. So what are we looking for?
When we are selecting a new Bengal cat to bring into our breeding programme, we look for how we can improve on what we have already and we will consider their temperment. We go back to the TICA breed standard and consider what our breeding goals are. There are occasions we will use an outside stud for our queens, however we will only allow our girls to be mated with studs from other cattery's who have the same goals and aspirations we have.
As we love taking part in Cat Shows, we do like to consider if any new cat would be suitable for this. You can never have the perfect show quality Bengal Cat, what we are looking for is a cat that fits the breed standard as best it can and we can have some fun at the shows with! A good temperment is extremely important and ensuring that the Bengal kitten is socialised from an early age will help with this.
